Haitian Beauty Hibiscus Plate
Use Duncan® Concepts® colors to add natural hues on the large, showy petals on this national flower of Haiti for a beautiful serving dish or display piece.
For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo for color and design placement.
- Wipe plate with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.
- Brush three coats Dark Straw on back and sides of plate. Let dry.
- Using Fan Glaze brush, brush a coat of Dark Straw on outer rim area of plate.
- Using same brush, dip into Light Honeysuckle and from center of plate brush outward into the Dark Straw allowing brush hairs to feather into the yellow. Let dry. Repeat two more times. Let dry.
- Brush a coat of Dark Straw on sepal and wipe back to reveal some white.
- Use Stylus Tool to scratch fine lines from center of each petal to reveal white bisque in the Honeysuckle areas.
- Use Liner brush to pain a coat of Dark Wine coming from center of flower and alongside of sepal.
- Paint Black spots in each petal surrounding sepal.
- Dip Liner brush in Dark Wine and define petals. Let dry well.
- Brush a coat of Pure Brilliance to plate. Let dry.
- Stilt plate on kiln shelf and fire to cone 06.
